I posted a couple of shots of Derek Jeter in the Sports / Fenway gallery. I’m sure some Yankee fan out there would love to have one of these hanging in their office.

There are also some Hideki Matsui photos up on my Flickr account that I can post here if anybody’s interested in purchasing. Let me know.

I finally got around to adding some of the photos from Fenway Park to the galleries. They are from various games throughout the last few years, and there will be more coming as I get time.

There are a bunch more at my Flickr account as well.

Washington Nationals ParkLast week, my friend Jeff was kind enough to get some great seats to see the Nationals pull of their first win of the season against the defending World Champion Philadelphia Phillies.

I have to say that I was pretty impressed with Nationals Park. It’s very well designed, easy to get around, and the food is great. It was also very cool to be able to sit on the club level. Hopefully the team will start playing a little better and drawing the fans in, but on the other hand, it is nice to be able to just make a last second decision to go and buy tickets at the door.

Pictures can be found here. They are up in the Sports and Fine Art galleries.

Nashoba Chieftains WrestlingPhotographs from the 2009 Massachusetts Division 2 wrestling championships in North Andover are now posted in the MidwoodPhoto gallery. The newspaper sent me to cover the matches of a few of the Nashoba Chieftains. This is the first time I’ve photographed at a wrestling meet, and it took a little while to figure out when to take some of the shots, but I think they came out pretty well.

Indoor track hurdlesPhotographs from the indoor track meet in Fitchburg are now posted in the MidwoodPhoto gallery. I can’t tell you how much I enjoy indoor sports when the weather is as nasty as it’s been up here lately.

Nashoba GoalieLast Wednesday, the Stow Independent sent me to cover the Nashoba Chieftains vs. Lunenburg at the North Star Youth Forum in Westboro. The teams skated to a 1-1 tie. It wasn’t the most comfortable rink in the world, and I ended up having to shoot in a little spot between the bench and the boards, but it was a good time none the less. Pictures are posted in the gallery.

Last month, I got to tag along on one of Christy’s business trips to Paris. I’ve been so busy that I just got around to processing the photos. They’re posted in the gallery.

In addition to seeing most of the main touristy attractions in Paris, we also took a day trip out to Versailles. Highlights of that day included getting on the wrong train and riding it out in to the suburbs north of the city. It wasn’t a bad trip, and we got to see a little more of the country, but by the time we got to Versailles, our “arrive early” approach had failed, and we spent a lot of time in crowded lines that day. Being the cultured person that I am, my astute impression of the palace is that the French nobility had WAY too many bedrooms.

It was my first time visiting France, and I had a good time. The food and wine were both very very good. The weather was cold, and at least one of the days was fairly drizzly, so we ended up spending a lot of time drinking in cafes. Not bad. I also had just recently injured my back, so I ended up being a big fan of riding in a boat around the Seine. I also found their subway system relatively easy to handle once you figure out that the doors on the train cars don’t open automatically.

Once I got used to being a little more formal with the French language (everybody expects you to address them as Monsieur or Madame), I realized that they were not really as nasty to Americans as I expected them to be. In general, I’m starting to figure out a lot of the perceived problems that Americans have when traveling overseas are usually related to the fact that those particular Americans are themselves the problem.

More photos available at my Flickr account.
